A plan to build seven houses in a garden is "pure greed", according to a Sandbach resident from a group that attended a council meeting where the plan was discussed.
The neighbours said that a planning application for the demolition of one house and the building of seven on the same site at 14, Smithfield Lane, was an example of "garden grabbing" by developers, a practice which the Government said it intended to stop.
The application, by Steve Bourne from Brighouse Homes, was discussed at a meeting of Cheshire East Council's Southern Planning Committee last Wednesday.
