Bus operators in Biddulph have confirmed they are in talks with Staffordshire County Council on how to minimise traffic congestion in the town centre. First Bus and Bakerbus both said they were working towards making improvements, while a town councillor has suggested that a bus station was the answer. akerBus managing director Phil Baker said discussions were taking place with the county council and a First Bus spokesman said: "We are in dialogue with the council regarding changes. "We obviously want the best deal for bus passengers with the new arrangements and minimised congestion. That's our aim." At a town council Civic Committee meeting last Tuesday, town and district councillor Andrew Hart said there was a "general consensus" that Sainsbury's, which was building a supermarket in the town centre, would talk to county Highways to "find a solution and then come back to us".
