A 38-year-old man who was arrested following a stabbing in Sandbach, has been released without charge.
Cheshire Police were called to a house at Townfields at 7.20pm on Thursday, where they discovered a 42-year-old man with puncture wounds to his chest. The victim's condition was described as stable and police suspect that the weapon used was a pair of scissors. The man arrested was released without charge on Friday, on the advice of the Crown Prosecution Service. A CPS spokesman said: "At the present time, on the basis of the evidence provided by the police, there was insufficient evidence for there to be a realistic prospect of conviction."
