Sandbach Town Council gained a new member on Friday. Local resident and trader Lyndsey Chadwick was chosen from five candidates during a co-option at Sandbach Town Hall. She was picked by the existing councillors, who took part in a closed vote. Naming the incinerator as her reason for applying, Coun Chadwick told the "Chronicle" this week that she was "extremely proud" to be chosen. She said: "I'm still very new to this, so I'm not really sure what I'm going to do yet, but I do know Sandbach is a brilliant town and the reason I applied for this position is because I want to give something back. "I am not a political animal, I am pragmatic, and my motive is to do the best for Sandbach, that's what all the councillors are about."
