1712: Lord Mohun and the Duke of Hamilton clash in a duel over the ownership of Gawsworth Hall. Both die, leaving Stuart society in uproar. Mohun was an infamous rake, womaniser and duellist, Hamilton a Scottish Tory opposed to the union.
