Autumnal walk at Peover Park
The warmer weather encouraged 26 members of Congleton Ramblers and friends to turn out for Sunday’s half-day walk. This was a walk of just over four miles starting from Clay Lane, Over Peover.
Leaving Clay Lane and crossing over Grotto Lane, the walkers reached the drive to Peover Hall. From there they followed the wide road / track which skirts the grounds of the hall for about two miles to reach the A50 Knutsford Road. En route they passed the turnings to Peover Woods, walked on other occasions and noted the chrysanthemum-filled greenhouses of Long Lane Farm. On reaching the A50, the leader gave the group the opportunity for a quick drink stop before turning right along the A50. This was the least enjoyable part of the walk but, luckily, there is a pavement alongside the road without the need to cross the road.
