Succour for lonely

Anyone who is feeling lonely is invited to a drop-in session on Wednesday mornings from 9am to noon at Wellspring Methodist Church, Congleton.
A church spokesperson said: “We have been in the process of looking at developing our presence in the community. As part of this development we recognise the need for friendship and companionship. In response to this need we have set up a weekly drop-in for people who may find themselves feeling lonely or in want of company. This may be someone who cares for a loved one, someone widowed, a single mum or dad, someone new to the area, or even someone with a family who finds the evenings hectic but the days long and empty.
“While we cannot offer an answer or a solution to everyone’s problems we are happy to open our doors.”
There will be free tea and coffee, toast, biscuits, board games, puzzles and conversation in a relaxed atmosphere.
