Mr JA Taylor
The funeral took place on 24th February of Mr John Andrew Taylor, of Rudyard, who died at home on 27th January, aged 79.
Mr Taylor was born on 1st October, 1940, in Handforth, to Mr and Mrs Harry and Dorothy Taylor. He was followed a couple of years later by Robert and later Brian.
Mr Taylor attended Wilmslow School and at the age of 15 started work as an apprentice joiner with Brown’s of Wilmslow where at the age of 21 he received his “deeds”. One of his proudest moments was helping to carve and hang the big oak doors on Manchester Cathedral.
He met his wife, Patsy at a barn dance at Goostrey Village Hall in 1960. They married on 20th October 1962 at St Bartholomew’s Parish Church, Wilmslow. As Mrs Taylor’s father’s business was in closed circuit television and public address systems, the wedding service was recorded and every anniversary, they sat and watched the film.
Mr Taylor always loved being outside, and especially walking dogs along the seven miles of sandy beach at Borth where for 26 years they had a mobile home. He also loved talking to anybody he met about anything and everything.
On 24th August, 1987, Mr Taylor started his own business, trading as JAT Remedial Treatments. Mrs Taylor will continue to run the business in his memory.
