Mr JRH Knott MBE, SBtJ, FRSA
The funeral was held on 21st May at Macclesfield Crematorium of Mr John Raymond Henry Knott, who died at Macclesfield District General Hospital on 28th April.
Mr Knott was a well-known character in Congleton and the surrounding areas. He was a senior partner of Whittaker and Biggs and a fund-raiser extraordinaire for many charities, including Cancer Research UK.
He was a founder member of Knutsford Motor Club as a member of The Royal Oak Motor Club, and he was a Freemason at the Beneficent Lodge at Macclesfield. However, it was his long service in the St John Ambulance that gained him his MBE.
