Mrs N Farrington
The funeral took place on 17th February of Mrs Norah Farrington, of Congleton and formerly of Crewe, who died on 22nd January, at Macclesfield District General Hospital, surrounded by her family, aged 88.
Mrs Farrington was born on 16th March, 1931. She grew up in Brownlow and attended Astbury School. In August 1959, she married Mr Alfred Jones and they had two children, Denise and Christopher. Sadly, Mr Jones died in 1960. Mrs Farrington remarried in 1975 and she and her husband lived in Crewe.
She loved spending time outdoors and very much enjoyed her garden. She was also a gifted knitter. In January 2020, Mrs Farrington moved to Bradwell Court residential care home in Congleton.
The Rev Murray George conducted the service and cremation at Macclesfield Crematorium where the hymns The Lord’s My Shepherd and Make Me a Channel of Your Peace were sung.
Mourners were: Mr B and Mrs D Blundred (daughter and son-in-law), Mr C and Mrs G Jones (son and daughter-in-law), Mr N Blundred (grandson), Miss H Jones (granddaughter, rep Miss S Loftus), Mr P Siddorn (cousin), Mr P Plant, Mr J and Mrs R Mellor (sister and brother-in-law, rep Mrs D Couchman, niece and Mr B Stalhi), Mr S Snape.
Mourners who met at the crematorium included: Mrs Sheldon, Miss S Gardiner, Mr Venables, Mrs J Buckley, Mr M Buckley, Mr and Mrs J Pickstock, Mr J Burgess, Mr and Mrs AL Thorton, Mr and Mrs D Kelly (rep Mrs N Kelly), Mr P Bestwick (rep Mrs L Bestwick), Mrs A Appleton (rep Mr and Mrs P Machin, Mr and Mrs Whalley.
Messrs Alan Finneron Funeral Directors, of West Street, Congleton, were in charge of the funeral arrangements and provided bearers.
