Apples wanted to make local cider
Dear Sir, —It is that time again. We are pressing apples to make our award-winning Congleton apple juice, as well as cider, cider vinegar and chutney.
Please bring unwanted excess apples (any variety, small, scabby, large) to the Old Saw Mill or Astbury Mere Visitor Centre.
You will receive a free bottle of juice.
Last year we stopped several tonnes of fruit from going to waste. Let’s see how much we can save this year.
Our team of volunteers at the Old Saw Mill are ready and waiting to press, juice and bottle. — Yours faithfully,
Congleton Sustainability Group.
