Are we of Cheshire East simply sheep?
Dear Sir, — The new seating arrangements introduced at the most recent Cheshire East Council meeting placed the leader of council at the centre of events. As he congratulated himself on this innovation, which amounts to shuffling the deck chairs, he told the chamber: “The shepherd must be able to smell the sheep.” Twenty-four hours later, I’m still at a loss as to whether or not I should feel insulted. Are the councillors and residents of Cheshire East simply sheep who must follow wherever he leads without question? His actions suggest this is possible.
