Co-operative party is growing in size
Dear Sir, — I stood for election to Cheshire East Council as a Labour and Co-operative Party candidate.
I was attracted to the Co-operative Party as it promotes democratic control by customers and workers of enterprises. The best-known example of a co-operative is the Co-op stores, which are owned and run by the workers, customers and suppliers. I see co-operatives as a third way in the debate between private and public ownership.
