Concerns about B&Q site purchase
Dear Sir, — What a strange political world both nationally and locally we are now living in, and any logical or operating in transparency is thrown straight out of an open door.
I am referring to the £22.3m of council taxpayers’ money Cheshire East Council spent on buying an 8.8-acre commercial site in Crewe, currently leased for the next 10.4 years by B&Q.
Yet Cheshire East Council purchased the site in March 2019 approximately six weeks before the council election on 2nd May, 2019.
