Congleton Pride’s planning meeting
Dear Sir, — I write to thank you for the coverage you gave our efforts to hold the first Congleton Pride event on the front page of last week’s Chronicle.
Since the article appeared, things have moved at quite a pace, with a Facebook group “Congleton Pride” being established with nearly 300 people joining at the time of writing.
Local councillors have also been extremely supportive, as has everyone we have spoken to.
We are therefore pleased to announce that our first planning meeting has been scheduled for 7pm on Wednesday at Ruby’s Fund, Meridian House, Roe Street, Congleton, CW12 1PG.
The objective of holding a pride event is to promote the dignity and equal rights of the LGBTQ+ community. Above all, it is to increase the visibility of LGBTQ+ community and celebrate diversity and gender variance.
As a result, the meeting at Ruby’s Fund is open to all, irrespective of your sexuality or gender identity, as there is only one goal – to join together to celebrate and promote diversity within our community.
The support our efforts have received so far has been overwhelming, so I hope to see as many of your readers who are interesting in helping stage this wonderful event as possible at our exciting first meeting on Wednesday, 15th. — Yours faithfully,
