Considering quieter fireworks next year
Dear Sir, — It’s that time of year again when fireworks light up the night sky for 5th November, Diwali and, in a few weeks, Christmas and new year.
I have been contacted by several residents with reference to the prolonged occurrence of our festivities and the noise that they make. They have brought to my attention a motion from the RSPCA for Biddulph Town Council to consider and this will be discussed at the meeting on Tuesday, 12th November.
It in no way shape or form advocates a ban, before anyone accuses me of being the fun police. It just asks us to consider the noise levels emitted from fireworks, consider buying quieter varieties, encourage attendance at organised displays and stay safe.
