Council missing common sense

Dear Sir, — I write regarding the huge pay-out of £22.3m made by Cheshire East Council re the B&Q site on Western Road in Crewe. How can they be allowed to spend such a huge amount of money on this purchase when I have to go to my local supermarket to buy weed killer to clear the guttering and footpath outside my house and the potholes in the road are almost big enough for ducks!
What will it be next? Do I have to go and buy tarmac to fill the potholes in my road!
I’m 82 years old and feel that some common sense and responsibility is missing in our council. — Yours faithfully,

JOAN SHREEVE
