Council response a breath of fresh air

Dear Sir, — I recently reported to Sandbach Town Council that one of its direction signs at the Scotch Common car park was pointing the wrong way.
Within an hour, I had a response from the town clerk, Ann Banks, indicating that she would pass on the message to the town ranger.
Shortly after, the town ranger reported that he had inspected the defective sign on his way home and temporarily fixed it. A permanent repair was carried out within a few days.
What a breath of fresh air to report an incident, have it inspected and repaired all within a week.
Congratulations, Sandbach Town Council, and thanks to the town ranger, Neil, for acting so promptly.
Perhaps Cheshire East could take a leaf out of Sandbach Town Council’s book and respond to complaints from the public in a timely manner instead of only answering complaints made by elected Cheshire East Council members. — Yours faithfully,

RICHARD HAMILTON
Hillsborough.
