Donate your apples for juice and cider
Dear Sir, — Many varieties of apples are ripening now. Have you got more than you can eat? Don’t worry, Congleton Sustainability Group has a scheme that will turn them into award winning Congleton Apple Juice and Congleton Cider.
All you have to do is collect your excess apples (we don’t mind scabby fruit) — dessert or cooking. Bag up your apples, leave your name, take them to Astbury Mere Visitor Centre (open 9am to 5pm daily) or the Old Saw Mill, Back River Street (open 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday) between now and late November.
Over the past 10 years, we have saved many tons of apples from disposal in landfill.
