Drop-in support for Parkinson’s

Dear Sir, — P Rowley’s letter (Chronicle, 19th September) mentioned the excellent Crewe and District Parkinson’s group.
In Congleton, there is the beginning of a group covering Congleton, Biddulph and Holmes Chapel.
We meet in the Chappell Centre, Leek Road, Mossley, 10.30am to noon on the last Friday of each month for coffee and to discuss the various aspects of the condition.
We have speakers on various subjects relevant to people affected by Parkinson’s, either because they have the condition or care for someone with it.
Tomorrow (Friday) we have Cheshire police covering personal safety. In October the Co-operative bank is giving a talk on “tax, care and toyboys”.
The drop-in café, as it is known, is supported by Parkinson’s UK and we can draw on their staff for information and specialist knowledge.
So if you have Parkinson’s, or care for someone with it, feel free to drop in between 10.30 and noon and meet others affected by the condition. — Yours faithfully,
IAN FRASER
Congleton.
