One of the more baffling elements of modern newspaper production — second only to why people think news is free and they can get all they need from second-hand tittle-tattle on social media — is people who post on social media and then don’t want their story in the Chronicle.
Typically, they post exhaustive detail of some event or other on social media and respond to all the “You ok, hun?” comments but then, when it’s going to be featured in the Chron, have second thoughts.
“Oooh, I don’t think I want it in the paper,” they often say, after posting it on the WORLD WIDE web, “people might read it.”
