Filled with despair by MPs’ interviews
Dear Sir, — I, like so many people, thought that once we had a new prime minister we could expect to see progress made on the matter of leaving the European Union on 31st October, already delayed by some months. This followed the referendum in 2016 when some 17.4m people voted to leave.
I certainly did not expect elected members of Parliament of all parties to go against the wishes of considerable numbers of their electorate and seek to block our planned departure, even if it should be without a deal, bearing in mind the question asked at the Referendum was stay or leave.
