Government fails to protect citizens

Dear Sir, — Britain’s most senior police officer, the commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Cressida Dick, has contradicted our prime minister’s claim that cuts in police numbers were not to blame for the rise in violent crime.
The chairman of the Police Federation of England and Wales, John Apter, has called the prime minister “delusional” with her claim there was no correlation between cuts in police numbers and the rise in violent crime.
