Gypsy transit sites now costly burden
Dear Sir, — Another skeleton has been found in the former Cheshire East Council leader’s cupboard.
The planning inspector, in a recent decision, granted planning permission on appeal for a private caravan site in Moston. In his decision statement he stated that he has been strongly influenced by the fact that Cheshire East had failed to provide proper stopping accommodation for members of the Gypsy, Roma, or Traveller communities, when coming to his decision to grant the appeal against the council’s Southern Planning Committee’s refusal.
