Hoping to clarify the council tax bill
Dear Sir, — Over the weekend I have been spoken to several times with reference to the council tax bill.
Cheshire East Council is only the billing authority.
The council tax for Cheshire East has risen by 1.99% with an additional 1% for children’s social care.
The fire authority precept, which is approved by a cross party group, (majority Labour) is 2.99% and is set separate to Cheshire East.
The police and crime commissioner (Labour) sets the police precept and once again this is set by a cross party cross Cheshire group (Labour majority) and has been increased by 13.6%. This is also set separate to Cheshire East.
