How short-sighted can council be?

Dear Sir, — Why is Cheshire East Council determined to sell off one of Congleton’s most historic houses?
Bradshaw House was the home of one of the most famous characters in the Civil War. John Bradshaw was the judge who condemned Charles I to the scaffold.
Famous or infamous, he was important in Congleton’s history and, of course, in English history.
The museum trust should have our support in continuing to seek funding to restore the house and establish it as Congleton’s Museum.
Shame on Cheshire East Council! How short sighted can you be? — Yours faithfully,
