Impact on humans of climate change
Dear Sir, — In this and every other paper we read about how climate change is affecting the animal and plant worlds. Species are moving, mutating and/or facing extinction.
But one species has escaped notice — ours.
Over millennia we have evolved from the basic model. When the human race sprang up in Africa, all skins were black. People needed the melanin to protect them from the sun.
When some migrated to the Middle East and India various shades of brown appeared.
Further East the howling winds of Central Asia produced the extra eye-fold.
