Interest in saving market a little late
Dear Sir, — In last week’s Chronicle, Coun Peter Broom surprisingly stated that Philip Barber’s plan for saving Congleton Market was a good idea. This plan has been around for at least three years and Mr Barber’s petition, which gained more than 3,000 signatures, was publicised widely in the Chronicle and elsewhere.
So it begs the question — why the sudden interest in the subject? There is not an election coming up soon, is there?
