Is it politicians or officials in charge?
Dear Sir, — There has been much discussion in your columns and the wider media recently about climate change and the need for everyone to play their part in reducing pollution. Cheshire East Council has taken a leading role in the challenge to reduce its carbon footprint by 2025 and this is to be commended.
While it is clear that the political element of the council has declared its intent, it is apparent that some officials in the council lack the will to support their political counterparts. Therein lies a major stumbling block.
The editor recently made reference to the lack of walking buses to primary schools in the borough and again mentioned it in last week’s editorial.
