Is it time we had a park bandstand?

Dear Sir, — Congratulations again to Sandbach Town Council for another superb Party in the Park.
It is a beautiful venue and it was so lovely to sit and relax in the sunshine and enjoy wonderful music from Sandbach School and Foden’s Band.
I note that the incoming mayor, Coun Hovey, is looking to support music in Sandbach.
We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful opportunities for everyone to participate in or to enjoy live music locally from the schools’ groups and Love Music Trust, to local bands like Lions Youth Band and Winterley Brass Band, professionals like Foden’s and opportunities to listen to world class performers at the Sandbach Concert Series.
There are numerous music events at other local venues too.
At the other end of the age continuum, there is the amazing Sandbach U3A Brass Band (Elworth Silver Band) that features many people in their 70s and 80s and entertained everyone so delightfully in Sandbach Park at the recent fun day on armed forces day. Music brings people together.
So is it not time we had a bandstand in Sandbach Park?
The one in Congleton Park is well utilised and what a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon listening to Rode Hall Band, or one of the many others that play there during summer.
It would be a lovely attraction to have and a tribute to Foden’s Band perhaps?
I shall write to Sandbach Town Council and if you think it is a good idea to at least explore the possibility, please contact them too. — Yours faithfully,
INGRID VICTOR
