Link road needs separate cycleway

Dear Sir, — Given that Cheshire East has decided that the new link road will not have a dedicated cycleway, I suggest that road safety is surely going to be a problem not only for cyclists but also for drivers.
The road is a single carriageway in each direction, which will be busy during peak periods.
It will only take a few cyclists on this road to slow the traffic down to cyclist speed, making it dangerous to overtake.
Surely, for the safety of all road users, a separate cycleway on this link road should be provided.
I would urge all vehicle drivers to contact Cheshire East and express concern. The new link road may become the new slow road. — Yours faithfully,

ANTHONY BOLDING
Congleton.
