Local elections and anger over Brexit
Dear Sir, — While campaigning for the local elections I have sensed considerable anger over Brexit.
The anger is directed generally at politicians, mainly at MPs and particularly at Theresa May, who said 50 times that the UK would leave the EU on 29th March 2019.
The feelings towards Theresa May and the Conservatives remind me of the feelings towards Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats after they voted for an increase in tuition fees, despite having promised that they would vote against any rise in fees. The Nick Clegg I’m Sorry song hit the charts and the Lib Dems’ credibility has not recovered.
