Market should be on Market Square
Dear Sir, — I read with interest the Chronicle item on problems with the makers market, re access, crowding etc.
My suggestion would be to move it around the corner onto the land to the rear of the town hall, which is already called Market Square.
This would solve all the access crowding issues and not block the high street.
Congleton has a great opportunity here to reuse this site, which was always the market site prior to the now demolished council offices being built.
This location would link the makers market directly to the town hall, which could be used as an indoor area, if desired.
