Memories of past military parades
Dear Sir, — Celebrations were going on quite often in the early fifties. If it wasn’t the coronation, it was something else to make the nation feel great.
The military band started on Hankinson’s Field, and after their musical notes were all in tune they formed in strict military fashion on Foundry Bank. With the beat of the drum, the band struck up with an inspiring regimental sound of trumpets and many more musical instruments, which were a delight to hear.
