Mobility scooters should be insured
Dear Sir, — Mobility scooters seem to be getting larger and speedier and there appear to be more of them, taking up the whole of the footpaths in the towns.
Are they insured if they bump into a pedestrian? (There are a lot of pedestrians who have difficulty walking and have a job to get out of the way of the scooters.)
Can anyone buy one and use it on the road or footpath?
Do the “drivers” have any training on rules and regulations and how to use them?
Why are they not made to wear high visibility clothing? — Yours faithfully,
JEAN M BATCHELOR
