Our first visit and what a nice town

Dear Sir, — We went on Wednesday morning to Astbury Mere to walk our two dogs around the mere and had a coffee and a toastie in the little cafe there; brilliant, it was really good. The lady in there was very nice.
Then we went to Congleton for a look around. “Nice town,” we thought.
We came upon the statues of the soldier and the dog — what a lovely thing. I really liked them.
So thank you the people of Congleton, they are a credit to you all.
And thank you to the men and animals who helped us to win a war. — Yours faithfully,

GEOFF WINSTANLEY
