Pavement parking ban not logical

Dear Sir, — Regarding the idea that has been mooted by Cheshire East Council to ban cars from parking with two wheel wheels on the pavement across the borough in last week’s Chronicle: there are very few roads in Congleton that are wide enough for two cars to pass in opposite directions when there is a car parked wholly on the road.
Most of Congleton was built when there were very few cars on the road, the 1930s and 40s estates, or even prior to there being any cars on the road at all. The free flow of traffic would grind to a halt if this ban was enforced.
