Plan to make Rood Hill wall greener

Dear Sir, — Thank you for printing my letter regarding the planting of trees in Market Square, Congleton, on ground outside the police station.
I mentioned Olga Whitmore in her continual work in planting trees around the borough. She was assisted by Tony Boon and Barry and is now planning a new project, “green-walling” Rood Hill. Apparently, ivy takes away toxic fumes, so anything that improves air quality should be encouraged, as it will be some time before we all own electric cars. — Yours faithfully,

SYLVIA BEDDOW
Congleton.
