Plight of smaller farmers ignored
Dear Sir, — I was interested to read Andrew Wood’s comments in the Chronicle last week urging political change for Cheshire’s farmers. Firstly, let me say that I whole-heartedly agree that dramatic political change is needed in terms of how we look at farming, both nationally and locally.
While people living in the Cheshire countryside have generally been enjoying great prosperity in recent decades, as is evidenced by the huge number of expensive 4x4s charging around, many smaller farmers certainly have not.
