Riders should have to pick up manure
Dear Sir, — I recently had to walk home to West Heath from Astbury. The footpath was like walking through a farmyard due to horses passing that way previously. If I walk a dog, I am obliged to carry a bag and pick up any deposits. Why should horse riders be any different?
Surely it would be possible to carry a small shovel and a (large) bag plus a mounting step if necessary. Failing that, return later with a wheelbarrow and brush. — Yours faithfully,
