Rood Hill wall: leave well alone
Dear Sir, — I have been asked by several people in Congleton to write about the greening of Rood Hill wall, put forward by members of the Extinction Rebellion movement.
First of all, many people do not think that Rood Hill wall is ugly and boring. The wall serves an important purpose, that of shoring up a huge volume of earth and it must not in any way be weakened.
With respect to the reasons behind this idea, clearly it is laudable, but the practicality of this must be somewhat dubious.
As a retired toxicologist, I have spent some time researching this issue because it is obviously of importance to many people.
