School meat is not carbon-neutral 

Dear Sir, — It was disappointing to see that Cheshire East’s new Cabinet, at its meeting on 11th June, unanimously approved the recommissioning of meat contracts for school meals across the borough for the next three years.
Meat production is widely known to be one of the key drivers of climate change, so for a borough council that declared climate emergency less than four weeks ago, this seems quite a contradiction.
