Thanks to voters for electing Tories
Dear Sir, — I and my Conservative colleagues want to thank Chronicle readers for voting for us at the recent elections.
The results reflect the circumstances that currently surround us. Several Conservative councillors have not been re-elected and I would like to thank them for their contributions to Congleton over the last four years and many longer than that. The former leader of the town council, Bob Edwards, has overseen significant developments during his terms: the new pedestrian walkway, the link road starting, the redevelopment of the leisure centre, the Congleton neighbourhood plan, and supporting the cenotaph redevelopment.
The fight to retain the minor injuries unit at the War Memorial continues, but the hospital will stay in use. Once again, many thanks for your support. — Yours faithfully,
