‘Trail’ hunting is used as a cover

Dear Sir, — I read with disappointment the article entitled “Hunts won’t be dragged into wasteful campaign” (Chronicle 14th March) regarding the Countryside Alliance and local hunting groups’ predictable refusal to cooperate with a request to provide an “event plan” to the police, which would include the route of the trail (supposedly) laid for the hounds to follow during a hunt. 
The request came about following an independent review of the policing of fox hunting in Cheshire commissioned by the police and crime commissioner David Keane.
