We need ordinary people in politics
Dear Sir, — Following my letter in last week’s Chronicle on the rise in council tax, I was amused to read the real time response from the “Cheshire East spokesman” in which they passed on the blame for Congleton being the third highest in council tax charges’ They pointed the finger onto the town council.
Fair enough you might say, that’s the “flower tax” for the Congleton in Bloom awards, but in pointing the finger, they have forgotten the golden rule that there are three fingers pointing back at yourself.
In this case, it’s the fact that the Congleton councillors in Cheshire East, voting for tax rises, will be the same ones involved in the town council as well!
