Where are the 3bn new trees we need?
Dear Sir, — I listened with interest to a discussion that took place on Radio Four early on Sunday morning about the environment, and the focus it took on the need for more trees to be planted.
One of the main tree experts in the country explained that although Britain already had five billion trees, a further three billion were needed to be planted urgently in order to sustain the environment.
This made me reflect on my recent walks and the scenes I have noticed around Congleton with the building of the new bypass.
