Attempted break-in at pub by men wearing balaclavas
A pub reopened on Friday after an attempted night-time burglary by men wearing balaclavas, while the people who run it were in a flat upstairs with two “terrified” children.
The gang targeted the Royal Oak, on Sandbach Road, Rode Heath, in the early hours of Thursday.
They failed to enter the premises but damaged a number of windows and a vehicle.
A social media post on Thursday by the Royal Oak said: “The Royal Oak was severely vandalised by a group wearing balaclavas and wielding basketball bats.
