Audley Road planning appeal

An Alsager couple will attempt to overturn a decision to refuse their planning application for a new house, which was turned down as it would encroach on greenbelt land.
Kevin and Julie Lancaster, of 64 Audley Road, Alsager, have submitted a planning appeal in relation to a change of use to an existing building at the address, claiming it is on brownfield land and not greenbelt.
Cheshire East Council had refused the application in February.
The Lancasters had previously been granted planning permission for an application consisting of an ancillary building and a tennis court. This satisfied the rules for building on greenbelt and a certificate of lawful development was granted.
However, building work never started and the couple are now seeking a change of use to a residential dwelling.
