Call to turn ‘eyesore’ land into joint use open space
Councillors want an “eyesore” piece of land on Cedar Avenue to be made accessible so that the area can be used as joint use open space.
The patch of unsurfaced land is mainly used for parking by parents dropping off pupils at St Gabriel’s Catholic Primary School, the local Scouts and Girlguides group and allotment holders.
Councillors have previously discussed adopting the land as a car park, although it would have to be maintained by the town council.
