Donation towards church bell tower ‘overwhelming’
The vicar and wardens of an Alsager church have been “overw-helmed” by a donation from a local organisation towards roof repairs.
They had asked for financial assistance to help cover the cost of repairing the bell tower.
Church buildings must be inspected every five years, both inside and out, by an architect or chartered building surveyor to check their condition and safety.
During the inspection at St Mary Magdalene’s Church, on Crewe Road, it was found that the bell tower roof needed repairs.
